Tanzania Country Director

Position Overview
The Tanzania Country Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and business development for J-Pay Africa Group in Tanzania. This role requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a strong entrepreneurial mindset to drive the company’s growth, ensure effective execution of business strategies, and maintain the highest standards of operational excellence. The ideal candidate will represent the organization, foster partnerships, and position J-Pay Africa Group as a market leader in the fintech space.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the country-specific business strategy aligned with J-Pay Africa Group’s vision and goals.
    • Drive growth and market expansion by identifying new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends.
    • Oversee the implementation of innovative solutions and services tailored to meet customer needs in Tanzania.
    • Lead The Tanzanian Team at J-Pay Africa Tanzania.
  2. Operational Management:
    • Ensure efficient day-to-day operations, including compliance with regulatory requirements, financial performance, and operational excellence.
    • Monitor and manage budgets, financial plans, and performance metrics to meet organizational objectives.
    • Establish effective governance structures and internal controls to ensure accountability and transparency.
  3. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
    • Oversee recruitment, performance evaluations, and capacity-building initiatives.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
    • Represent J-Pay Africa Group at events, conferences, and forums to strengthen the company’s visibility and influence.
    • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company in Tanzania, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging and values.
  5. Market Insights and Innovation:
    • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
    • Provide recommendations for product and service innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Ensure customer-centricity in the design and delivery of fintech solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years + of experience in a senior management role, preferably in the fintech or financial services sector.
  • Proven track record of business growth, operational management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • In-depth understanding of Tanzania’s regulatory environment, financial systems, and market dynamics.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.

Reporting:
The Tanzania Country Director will report directly to the Group CEO of J-Pay Africa Group.
