Job Summary:
The Group Chief ICT Officer (GCICTO) & Co-Founder at J-Pay Africa Group is responsible for leading the company’s technology strategy, overseeing IT infrastructure, and ensuring the security and scalability of digital payment solutions. As a Co-Founder, the GCICTO will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, digital transformation, and regulatory compliance in fintech. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with expertise in fintech, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. ICT Strategy & Digital Transformation
- Develop and execute a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with J-Pay Africa Group’s business goals.
- Oversee fintech infrastructure development, cloud solutions, and digital banking technologies.
- Lead the adoption of emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, and machine learning) in financial services.
- Ensure ICT systems are scalable, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
2. Fintech Platform Development & Innovation
- Oversee the design and development of J-Pay Africa’s digital payment platforms, APIs, and mobile applications.
- Work closely with the Group Chief Product Officer (GCPO) to optimize user experience (UX/UI).
- Drive automation, process optimization, and AI-driven solutions to enhance financial services.
- Ensure seamless integration of third-party fintech solutions, banking systems, and regulatory platforms.
3. Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect user data, transactions, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations (AML, KYC, GDPR, PCI DSS, and data protection laws).
- Develop fraud prevention, digital identity verification, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead IT audits, penetration testing, and incident response protocols.
4. IT Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions
- Oversee the management of cloud computing, data centers, and enterprise IT systems.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure and digital platforms.
- Implement disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup solutions.
- Optimize cost efficiency in ICT operations and cloud service usage.
5. Regulatory Compliance & Fintech Licensing
- Ensure J-Pay Africa’s ICT systems comply with local and international fintech regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and legal teams on ICT compliance.
- Work with the Group Chief Legal Officer (GCLO) to maintain compliance with financial and ICT laws.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and mentor high-performing IT and engineering teams across multiple regions.
- Represent J-Pay Group Africa at fintech summits, cybersecurity forums, and technology conferences.
- Collaborate with the Group CEO, investors, and strategic partners to drive fintech innovation.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA, IT Strategy, or Cybersecurity) is an added advantage.
5+ years of experience in ICT leadership, fintech, banking technology, or digital payments.
Proven expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), cybersecurity, and fintech systems.
Strong knowledge of AI, blockchain, APIs, digital banking, and mobile payment technologies.
Experience in ICT risk management, cybersecurity compliance, and fintech regulatory frameworks.
Leadership experience in building and managing IT teams in fast-growing organizations.
